Aiden has wanted to play football for a while now. Trevor and I did not want him to play tackle football because we don't think he needs to be getting bashed around at age 7(although, sometimes... it might be nice for someone to bash some sense into him), it's insanely expensive, and they play on Sundays. So, when Aiden brought home a flier for "Friday Night Lights" flag football league, we had all of our arguments taken away.
Each team in the league is named after an NFL team. Trevor and I were discussing which team we thought Aiden would be on, "Wouldn't it be great if he was on the 49ers?!" Trevor said. "Not as cool as it would be if he was on the Bengals!" I responded. Later that day we got an e-mail from Aiden's coach. In the heading it said, "Steelers", and I knew my life was over. Of all the freaking NFL teams?! I grew up near Cincinnati, Ohio. If you are from Ohio, you do not like the Steelers, you do not wear Steelers apparel(unless you desire a beating), nor do you EVER cheer for them. It just simply isn't done. And now, my son is a Steeler!
